The DRIVE2 Strategy is our roadmap for transformative change towards a more Diverse, Respectful, Inclusive, Values-based, Equitable, and Engaging police service.
In 2020, the Service launched the initial three-year Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan. It was a groundbreaking plan that included 10 action items that focused on areas within the Service and in the Community. Many positive results have been achieved but there is much more we have to do to continue the momentum of the initial action plan.
The new three-year DRIVE2 Strategy has been developed in collaboration with the Community Equity Council. The Strategy embeds EDI as a shared responsibility across the Service and sets the organization in the direction of continued teamwork, growth, and progress.
Success of this new strategy will rely on the commitment of all OPS members to embrace the action plan and find where they can each contribute to positively influence the work environment and our service to the surrounding communities. We need our members and our partners in the community to contribute to the success of this next three-year plan.
