What if I don't have an OPS member assigned to my project?

Sometimes good ideas come to us in the middle of the night. If you haven't yet reached out to OPS to partner on your project, drop us a line, tell us a little bit about the grant you are applying for and we will try to match you up!

Please note that the final decision to partner lies with the OPS directorate based on suitability of your project, time and resource availability.

How long does it take to get a support letter from OPS?

Typically we ask that you give us 10 business days to process your application request.

    Help us help you

Ensure you complete our application in detail and don't forget to attach a copy of your grant application and budget.

Can the OPS member assigned to our project sign a letter for us?

    No.

All letters of support are signed and issued by the Chief of Police.

All other letters are not an official representation of the Ottawa Police Service. If a funding agency contacts OPS to confirm your references and partnership status, they will be advised of the same and it could impact your grant application.

Why do I have to complete an OPS Application for a letter of support?

We receive many requests throughout the year for support letters.

Ensuring we have a transparent and integral process ensures that your project will have accountability to receive the resources and commitments promised.
